Experience the serene beauty of Kyoto draped in fresh snowfall as we take a peaceful walk through its historic eastern districts. Filmed on February 8, 2025, this walking tour starts in Gion at the front of Kankame Shrine (観亀神社) and proceeds through the narrow streets of Sueyoshicho-dori (末吉町通り).
We continue along charming alleyways before reaching Higashioji Street (東大路通り) and make our way to the magnificent Chion-in Temple (知恩院). Passing through Chion-in's New Gate (知恩院新門) and Chion-in Road (知恩院道), we arrive at the grand Chion-in Sanmon Gate (知恩院三門), one of the most impressive wooden gates in Kyoto.
Our journey then takes us to the tranquil Maruyama Park (円山公園), coated in pristine white snow, providing a stunning winter landscape. Finally, the walk concludes at the iconic Yasaka Shrine (八坂神社), its red torii gates standing beautifully against the snowy backdrop.
This 4K ASMR-style video captures the rare sight of Kyoto blanketed in snow, offering a calming and immersive experience for Kyoto lovers, shrine enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates the beauty of winter in Japan.
