By VIRTUAL KYOTO

Join us on a peaceful yet lively evening walk through the busy streets of Shijo Kawaramachi in Kyoto on the first day of a three-day weekend. This video captures the charming atmosphere of Kyoto as dusk approaches, with crowds filling the streets and the sights of the historic and shopping districts coming to life.

Starting at Pontocho (先斗町), a famous narrow alley lined with restaurants and bars, we move on to the bustling Shijo Street (四条通り), a key thoroughfare in Kyoto. The journey takes us to Shijo Kawaramachi (四条河原町), where the energy of the city is at its peak, with locals and tourists alike enjoying the shopping and entertainment options.

We then venture into the Shin-Kyogoku Shopping Street (新京極商店街), a lively arcade filled with a mix of souvenir shops and eateries, before stopping at Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine (錦天満宮), a small but significant shrine in the heart of the shopping district. The walk continues along Nishikikoji Street (錦小路) and into the Teramachi Kyogoku Shopping Street (寺町京極商店街), another historic shopping arcade with a blend of traditional and modern stores.

Returning once more to Shijo Kawaramachi, we then make our way to the Kamo River (鴨川), a well-loved Kyoto landmark where people often gather to relax and take in the evening scenery.

Whether you're a Kyoto enthusiast, a fan of travel vlogs, or someone looking for a virtual escape, this immersive walking tour offers a taste of the vibrant and historic side of Kyoto.
