In this beautifully filmed 4K walking tour, KeLi Walk takes viewers through a culturally significant and historically rich area of Tokyo, exploring the famed Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens during the plum blossom season. Filmed in February 2025, the journey begins at Suidobashi Station (JR Chuo & Sobu local lines) and winds its way toward Korakuen and Kasuga Stations, offering a glimpse into both modern urban life and Edo-era tranquillity.
The stroll starts with a brief history lesson on the naming of Suidobashi and a view of its surroundings, including IMM Theater and promotional ads for the legendary band LUNA SEA. Soon after, the walk enters Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens through the East Gate, one of Tokyo's oldest and most beautiful daimyo gardens. The garden is vibrant with seasonal plum blossoms, especially around the Plum Grove, and features historical sites such as the Karamon Gate, Furo-no-Mizu (Well of Eternal Youth), and remnants of the Kanda Josui, one of Tokyo’s early waterwork systems.
The path continues through serene garden spots like Engetsu Kyo (Full Moon Bridge), Tsutenkyo Bridge, and Kantoku-tei—each spot steeped in Edo-period design and philosophy. The video also documents cultural and historical remnants including Tokujin-Do, the former Kiyomizu Kannon-do site, and various plum blossom vantage points, making it both a meditative escape and a history lesson.
Eventually, the walk exits the park through its western gate and transitions into the lively Tokyo Dome City and LaQua Zone—offering a stunning contrast between nature and modern Tokyo entertainment. Points of interest like Rekisen Park, the Tokyo Metropolitan War Cemetery, and Bunkyo Civic Center (with its Sky View Lounge) are also featured before finishing the walk at Kasuga Station on the Toei Subway.
This immersive journey not only provides a stunning view of the seasonal transition in Tokyo but also highlights important landmarks associated with Mito Komon (Tokugawa Mitsukuni), hence the historical emphasis. Koishikawa Korakuen is a lesser-known yet superb alternative to the more crowded parks in spring, offering quiet trails and historical ambiance right in the heart of Bunkyo Ward.
